BAFFIN TECHNOLOGY HELPS JADE REGAIN MOVEMENT
17-year-old Jade has profound and multiple learning disabilities combined with low muscle tone and global development delay. As a result of these conditions, Jade is completely reliant on 24-hour care as she is unable to weight bear and has very little understanding which means every aspect of her daily life is affected.
As part of her ongoing physiotherapy, Jade has been using a TRIO™ multifunctional standing frame from Baffin Technology for nearly two years as her mother Kathryn explains: “We first met the team from Baffin at the Kidz up North event and we were immediately impressed with the TRIO™ as we knew Jade could use it as a standing frame and chair and at the time, we were concerned that Jade was not spending enough time in a standing position”.
Despite this, the family were determined to do all they could to get a TRIO™ for Jade and when Simon from Baffin met the family to carry out an assessment and demonstration Kathryn also arranged for Jade’s physio to attend who was immediately impressed with the TRIO and the difference it made to Jade. After the demonstration, Jade’s physio agreed to help the family apply for funding.
